Coffee Shops that Bring Together the Community Have a Leg up in Marketing

Marketing is a funny thing, some people love it while others hate it. No matter how you feel about it though, marketing is also a necessary part of building a business. The days of renting a space, putting up a sign and having customers knock on your door are gone. If you want your business to have a chance at all, you must market it. This is especially true when there is an economic downturn.

Post Holiday Sales Slump - Opportunity to Strengthen Sales Base

The eggnog is drunk, the tree is recycled(maybe) and the shoppers are gone. While the first weeks and months after Christmas sales spikes are slow on a good day, it's a time that could be used to strengthen your sales base to keep the ship afloat and growing into the new year.

Create a Marketing Battle Plan, Don't Whine on Facebook

Social Media seems to be the new buzz-phrase. As much as I love how it can put a small business on the map in a way that was previously reserved for large corporations, it also makes me pull my hair out.

Take this example:

Finding Printing Services for Your New Collateral

Finding quality printing services is always a challenge, not so much in the quality part, but in the area of can you afford the price? When you need 1,000 business cards printed, but when $100 is just too much for the budget to handle, what do you do?

In my case, I start shopping. No matter how much I like a particular printer or other vendor, if I can't afford the services, I can't afford it - to make matters worse, if I really need the product - I must find another solution.

Did you get suckered in to the $50 website deal too?

I see them everywhere, cheap cheap deals for setting up a site with a few pages...they claim to have you up and running in no time flat! The problem with many of these, is that while they may indeed have a site up and ready to go for you, that is all they provide. Worse yet, they look like cookie cutter websites! To make yours stand out, you need to be aware of what makes your business different than the rest, and build that into your web presence.
